Rex is nationally known in the
pack goat
community for his advice on training
and equipment. He uses the sure-footed goats to carry his camp into places
seldom visited by other backcountry users. He was recently granted a US Patent
on his unique pack goat saddle design. He has been published in a national
working goat magazine and been included in at least two books on the subject.
His love of hunting and fishing in the great outdoors has only increased since patrolling the hundreds of square miles of Idaho's backcountry for the Clearwater County Sheriff's Department, as the County's Search and Rescue Incident Commander. He's also responsible for the the narcotics dog program and is a state certified Narcotics K-9 instructor. His excellent training abilities come from his teen years of running coon dogs in competition hunts. Rex has an addiction to archery that makes him remarkably successful hunting elk, bear and deer.
